Duet is offering a campus ambassadorship program with marketing organizations in different universities with an interest in providing members with professional marketing experience with a social justice non-profit organization.

The goal of the ambassadorship program is to host events and promote them through social media and marketing tactics in order to raise awareness and donations of Duet among college students.
​

The primary role of a campus ambassador is to help grow Duet’s donor base on campus by finding ways to spread awareness of the Duet cause and organization.
​

The most straightforward way to accomplish the main goal of the ambassadorship is to host events and collaborate with student-run organizations, professors, local restaurants, small businesses, etc.
​

The challenge that the student ambassadors must tackle is finding ways to identify high-potential partnerships that can attract college students as possible who are willing to spread the word and become potential donors.
​

Another challenge is to increase donor retention instead of getting donors who only donate once.
​

The general timeline of the ambassadorship is expected to be:

Prep Work

Meet with Head of College Expansion (HCE) to:

discuss overall expectations

plan marketing communication channels

brainstorm events, partnerships, and promotion tactics

Month 1

Send completed Instagram template

Reach out to potential partners

Get 10 friends to donate to Duet

By the end of this month, have a speaking engagement at a student club

Begin planning fundraiser workshop

Meet with HCE for event feedback

Finalize event concept and planning with partner

Begin to send outreach messaging; class announcements, IG stories, etc.

During the 2020-2021 school year, Duet partnered with the UC Santa Barbara chapter of the American Marketing Association to provide the Ambassadorship program for AMA members interested in gaining event planning and social media marketing skills.
​

UCSB student ambassadors were able to collectively raise $738 through a virtual holiday fundraiser by implementing a successful social media and email marketing campaign.
​

Donations resulting from the event planning and marketing efforts of the student ambassadors are doubled in Duet’s current matching donation drive in which every donation has twice the life-changing impact on refugee families in Greece.
​

Duet is currently partnering with organizations at UC Santa Barbara and USC in their student ambassadorship program.
